My question to you is, will you believe every word that I say??? Maybe so and maybe not, but it was an accident. It involved me, my brother's DeLorean, and a hotel room.
It was June of 2004 and many of us were getting ready for the DeLorean Car Show -held in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The sky was sunny and not a cloud to be found. My brother, Josh, was helping out with the show and even held his vendor stand, selling parts. He called me over to the registration table to see if I could do a favor for him, so I agreed. He asked me if I could move his DeLorean out from the sun and into the shade. I knew at the very moment that when I took his keys out from his hands that something bad was going to happen and I should've said "no", but didn't. I went out to start up the car and moved it to another parking spot that was near some hotel rooms. I thought the car was double parked, which is illegal and didn't want my poor brother getting a parking ticket, so I wanted to go into reverse and some other cars were waiting for me to make my move. I had already thought that I put it in reverse, but it seemed that I didn't. I gave the car power and all of the sudden........my brother's car was in a hotel room. I started to panic REALLY bad!!!!! .....because it was my brother's car that I wrecked. I literally wanted to walk out onto moving traffic because I had done something awful. I am REALLY thankful that no one was in the hotel room. When I saw the hotel room window started to crack and fall, I literally said, "OH SHIT!!!" I knew that I had to report the bad news to Josh and I was speechless to him, all that I said was "Josh, Josh!" and he knew right away that something had gone wrong. I can picture in my mind, still, of him saying, "AWWW SUSANNAH!" The cops showed up and I was thankful for Josh taking the blame, so thank you Josh!! He had received a $100 ticket from the cop and guess who had to pay him back....yep, me.
It's funny enough that I had ruined his new bonnet that had a petrol flap. Someday I want to repay him and get him the one he had at the time of the crash. The bonnet had millions of tiny dents from the fallen glass. I was literally in shock for the rest of the car show. The front end of the DeLorean had to be fixed as a result. But what you ALL don't know is that Josh had his DeLorean fixed from another car wreck that he caused back at home in Cincinnati. It had been raining for a day or two, so he decided to take his D out for a spin --taking it around the hills of a local city park, called Eden Park. The roads were wet and he had spun out into another expensive luxury car. Was there much damage??? Ohhhh-yesss!! The front end of the car was smashed and had to be fixed. FYI: Josh's DeLorean was bought online via eBay, which he traded for; he had a Honda previously.
Where were we staying?? Only a few doors down from the crash site. LOL....it's true. I almost parked his D down by the creek.....think about that for a moment, I could've been dead if something had gone wrong!! You probably hate me more than before or you love me because I wrecked a DeLorean and you seem like it's all very funny......either way, it's over and done with. I'm glad to this day that I didn't walk out into traffic because I would've never met Jay, Chris, Dan, Martin, and the rest of you all. Photos are below.
Love ya x
